Pastor Kortney L. Haigler

A native of Jersey City, New Jersey joins Jacob Chapel as the 10th Pastor to lead this great congregation of believers. Pastor Haigler, a preacher who preaches not for popularity but with the power of God, accepted his call into ministry over twenty years ago. During his time in New Jersey, he served faithfully in Ministry as the Associate Pastor of the Grace Chapel Baptist Church until he was called to be the fourth Pastor of the Union Baptist Church located in the beautiful city of Passaic. Under his leadership, Pastor Haigler expanded the church not only through membership intake but also through the development and revamping of ministries. Three of the most popular being the youth, culinary arts and worship, arts and media ministry. Pastor Haigler truly believes that ministry is not only essential inside the church but also outside the church. This is proven through his efforts with the Union Community Outreach program. Through the program they are able to provide hundreds of bookbags, school supplies and other necessities to the community during the annual back to school block party and serve those in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday season. During the Pandemic, Pastor Haigler heard the cry of the community and became the voice and leader where he lobbied to have Union serve as a covid testing and vaccine site for residents.

Pastor Haigler served as the 4th Vice Moderator of the North Jersey Missionary Baptist Association where he was responsible for the oversight of the NJMBA Scholarship, Laymen, Christian Education, the Moderator’s Administration team while also serving as the Associations Chief of Logistics. He also serves as a board member for the United Passaic Organization (UPO) which provides low-income families with the opportunities and resources to gain sustainable living.

An avid reader and lover of music, Pastor Haigler prides himself on being well educated and relatable to generations before and after him. He is a New York Theological Seminary graduate and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from The New Freedom Bible College in Chicago, IL. As a lover of education, Pastor Haigler is working to pursue his Masters in short from Pillar College. His life is dedicated to preaching and teaching the word of God to the people of God, serving the people of God, and living a life that is pleasing to God!

Pastor Haigler is the son of the late Lillie Haigler and the proud father of three gifted and talented teenagers, Myracle, NiKye and LaKendrick.
